Tonight I Ran…

one-twenty-five:

For me For Danny For this blog. For my stupid knee pain For my recent weight gain For all my future goals. For the beating of my heart For the numb feeling in my stomach For the moment I feel strong. For the high of the accomplishment For my hate of running For my desire to prove myself wrong..

Tonight I ran.

Tonight I ran because sometimes it’s the only thing that makes sense Because sometimes it’s the only thing I feel I can control

Obligatory Running Update

new personal best:

2.75 miles total
2.25 miles in one fell swoop
39:50 minutes for a 5k (under my 40 minute goal)

Last Tuesday I could barely make 2.1 miles. At any other point in my day I pretty much hate my body, but at this moment I’m pretty proud of it.

As much as the last post stands, I just ran 2.1 miles and that isn’t something I could have done 45 pounds ago.

Why can’t diets involve more cake and cheetos and less running and grapefruit? FML

How I Met Your Mother | 4.21 Three Days Rule

Barney: Seriously. Jesus started the whole wait three days thing — He waited three days to come back to life. It was perfect. If he’d have only waited one day, a lot of people wouldn’t have even heard that he died. They’d be all, ‘hey, Jesus, what up?’ And Jesus would probably be like, ‘what up? I died, yesterday!’ Then they would be all, ‘uh, you look pretty alive to me, dude.’ And then Jesus would have to explain how he was resurrected and how it was a miracle. And then the dude would be like, ‘uh okay, whatever you say, bro.’ He’s not gonna come back on a Saturday… Everybody’s busy doing chores. Working the loom, trimming their beards. No. He waits the exact right number of days; three. Plus, it’s Sunday, so everyone’s in church already. They’re all in there, ‘oh no, Jesus is dead.’ Then, bam! He bursts through the back door, runs up the aisle. Everyone’s totally psyched! And FYI, That’s when he invented the high five. Three days, Ted. We wait three days to call a woman, because that’s how long Jesus wants us to wait. True story.

Nostalgia Overload of the Day: Remember that exciting bit of fakery about new episodes of classic NickToons that was making the rounds a few weeks back (see above)? Well, funnily enough, it may have played a decisive role in today’s announcement that TeenNick will soon begin rerunning many of your favorite Nick shows from years past.
Starting this fall, old episodes of Rugrats, Kenan & Kel, Pete & Pete, The Amanda Bynes Show, All That and Clarissa Explains It All will air during a special midnight-to-2 AM block called “The ’90s Are All That.” According to Inside TV, the network “came up with the idea after seeing the huge interest in early Nickelodeon programming on social media sites.”
“At the time, we were completely devoted to that audience ages 9, 10, and 11,” TeenNick GM Keith Dawkins told EW. ““It was ground-breaking and for the young viewers, a powerful and pivotal time in their lives. Those kids who are now 22, 23 and 24 want to bring that back.”
